College Access Corps Positions

Oxford Hills High School - Oxford, ME
Sanford High School - Sanford, ME
Bonny Eagle High School - Standish, ME
Mt. Ararat High School - Topsham, ME
Waterville High School - Waterville, ME
Benefits:
The position requires an 11-month, 1,700-hour term of service. Members who successfully complete their term of service receive an $11,400 living allowance, health insurance coverage, and a $4,725 education award, which can be applied to previous student loans or continuing education costs. Members also receive significant professional and personal development training. Depending on the high school site, housing may be provided for free or at a reduced cost.
Responsibilities:
- Working one-on-one with high school students on a daily basis on the college search, visitation, application, and decision-process, as well as the financial aid process.
- A willingness to work closely with students and their families, as well as the staff currently in place in schools.
- Designing workshops and information sessions on college and financial aid for families and community members.
- Developing and maintaining contact with a local institution of higher education to utilize resources and mobilize college volunteers to further the goals of the program.
- Organizing college fairs and trips to nearby colleges and universities.
- Connecting with existing college access programs in the local area to maximize support for students.
- Attending regular CAC meetings and trainings.
